This family friendly Memorial Day weekend performance will be a genre bending experience set to excite live music fans of all ages. From Americana, pop, country, bluegrass, blues, and rock n' roll, there will be a display of ear candy for most every flavor.
The event will kick off with Alleghany favorites, Chad Nickell & The Loose Change, followed by Washington D.C.'s blues & guitar virtuoso, Bobby Thompson, & Revelator Hill. Joining Revelator Hill, will be the soulful sounds of special guest, Rachel Ann, of the Ron Holloway Band.
Regulars at the Bristol Rhythm & Roots Music Festival, If Birds Could Fly, will then take the stage bringing the songs of their sweet, country grit, followed by living legend, bluegrass Yoda, and guitar Grandmaster, Larry Keel. Another local favorite, Larry, will be joined by the Larry Keel Experience, and may even invite a surprise guest or two!
Closing the show, Cracker, will take us down memory lane back to a time when rock and roll was angsty, and country music wasn't autotuned. Back to a time when the label, "Americana," was just being birthed and all we had to worry about in the world was getting to work on time, or making it home before curfew. The genius writings of David Lowery, and Johnny Hickman are evident in their extensive discography, and their on-stage magic keeps their fanbase loyal.
Joining us again this May, will be Nurse Practitioner, Rikki McConnell, from the Hybrid Clinic, and she will be registering folks for their Virginia Medical Cards.
Food Trucks, Craft beer, Fireworks and a Bounce House for the kiddos will complete the evening. Be sure to arrive early, plan on bringing a blanket or lawn chair, and kick back for the festivities!
